  Description
Funding for this program comes from grants awarded by the Montana Department of Commerce HOME Program and administered by the Ronan Housing Authority or the Lake County Community Housing Organization. Applicants are also encouraged to enroll in a Home$tart Savings Program as offered through local bank partners (funded by the Federal Home Loan Bank’s Affordable Housing Program). Low-interest bank mortgages (funded through the Montana Board of Housing and/or the USDA Rural Housing Program) may also be available. This office is also a partner with the Montana HomeOwnership Network with access to many of their funding assistance programs.

Completed application forms are required in order to be pre-qualified for assistance. Eligibility must be determined on the basis of a personal interview and verification of income, assets and other pertinent information which will be obtained through written third party documentation.

All participants must attend an 8 hour homebuyer training course at the Housing Office, usually scheduled quarterly.

All assistance will be in the form of a 0% deferred payment loan (second mortgage), which will not be repaid until the home is either sold or the first mortgage paid.

For any further information, funding availability, homebuyer loan application, using Word: HomeBuyer's Application or Adobe: HomeBuyer's Application and mail it to the Lake County Housing Office. To receive a brochure or to help answer your questions, please call the office or e-mail ewood@ronan.net .
