The Lake County Housing Assistance Office has housing assistance programs for low to moderate income families provided by the City of Ronan Housing Authority and the Lake County Community Housing Organization. The programs include: Rental units in Polson, Pablo, Ronan, and St. Ignatius. Section 8 Voucher program, Tenant-Based Rental Assistance(short-term rental assistance depending on funds availability), and the First-Time HomeBuyer’s Program. We also do rental counseling for renters. Family Self Sufficiency Program |

The Family Self Sufficiency Program is for Section 8 participants only. The purpose of this program is to encourage and assist people to become self sufficient and no longer need to rely on Public Assistance. Participants are initially screened and individual goals for success are established. To accomplish those goals, guidance and support are provided by local agencies to assist the participant in making the goals attainable. The ultimate goal of self sufficiency will be achieved when they have a good paying job. An escrow account is established for the participant. If they have reached the family's goal of self sufficiency within the five year period the escrow account is given to the participant. If you are interested in the program, contact the housing authority office at 676-5900. If you are a Section 8 voucher holder and think you might want to participate, complete the questionnaire and call the office for an appointment. |

Senior Housing |

We also have Senior Housing in Ronan and St. Ignatius. These rental apartments have been constructed with assistance from USDA Rural Development(RD). The family has to be income eligible, 62 years old or older, or handicapped/disabled. The apartments come with rental assistance, and the amount of assistance is determined by each individual's income. We have 21 apartments in Ronan and 8 in St. Ignatius.
